A packable sleeping surface for shelters and emergency response.
After a disaster, people sleep on gym floors and cots for weeks. Cots are bulky to store and slow to set up, and foam mats are thin, hard to clean, and rarely reused.
A rolled mattress designed for bulk storage and fast deployment: light enough for one person to carry, sealed so it wipes clean, and comfortable enough that people actually rest. The original 2011 proposal covered the roll form, a wipeable skin, and a storage footprint sized for a shipping container.
Reviving the 2011 proposal with current foam and skin materials.
