JG Just How Good

Product design, reimagined

Products that ask a simple question: just how good could this be?

Just How Good is a studio of product ideas. Some are concepts still in motion. Some were launched and found their people. All of them start by taking an everyday object apart and putting it back together better.

Start with the annoyance

Every project begins with something that almost works. The gap between "fine" and "just how good" is where the design lives.

Make it obvious

If a product needs a manual, it is not finished. The best version explains itself in the hand.

Ship, then keep looking

Launched products are not done. They are the version that was good enough to test against real life.

Projects

Concepts in motion, and products that shipped.

Headphone Cleaning Kit

A single-use sachet with everything earbuds actually need: a two-ended swab, a stiff mini brush for mesh, a dry wipe for the case, and a pick for the seams. Sized to ship flat and sit at a checkout counter.

Reimagined from the pile of generic tools people buy and never use together.

Glasses Tracker

A slim Bluetooth tracker that slides over the temple tip of any pair of glasses. Curved cell, foam isolation, three sleeve sizes. Because glasses get lost far more often than keys.

Small Tools, Done Right

The individual pieces from the cleaning kit, redrawn so each one earns its place. Molded grips, a wipe that stays dry in the pouch, a pick that will not scratch.

Disaster Mattress

A packable sleeping surface for shelters and emergency response. Cheap to store in bulk, fast to deploy, and comfortable enough that people actually rest.

Disacomms

Simple communication for when the network is gone. A rethink of how people reach each other in the first hours after a disaster.

Battery Dongle

A pocket power add-on that treats charging as something you should never have to think about. An early project that shaped how the studio works.

About the studio

Just How Good is a working notebook of product design: sketches, prototypes, proposals and the occasional product that made it all the way to a shelf. New projects are added as they move.
